When you visit…you’ll quickly learn the faces behind the counter!

I’m Kristie…Some people call me Mrs Funky Twig…my husband calls me “the boss”, and my three kids call me mommy! The Funky Twig is a family owned and operated business in the small town of Kimberling City Missouri! Although real estate is what brought us to Kimberling City 6 years ago…ice cream is what made us stay. Brody asked..and asked..and asked if we could open an ice cream shop since he was tired of driving me to Branson for ice cream. So eventually I caved to the idea...and the rest is history!

So how did we get started? We first stumbled upon Bliss Artisan near Brody’s hometown in Marion IL. I immediately went shopping in the gift area and Brody of course headed straight to the ice cream counter. After his first sample he said “ Kris get over here! You have to try this!” So I obliged and tasted the Maple Bourbon Bacon ice cream. I. WAS. FLOORED. I looked at Brody and said I will open an ice cream shop only if we can get Bliss. Next thing we knew we had made friends with the owners of Bliss Artisan and we were setting up shop to open in May 2018…right when we found out we were expecting our first baby! We never thought we would own an ice cream shop…but here we are living the ice cream dream!

Fun Fact: The "twig" in our logo is actually the Kimberling City Bridge!
